The Lone Star Vex Challenge becomes the Shell Schlumberger Sea Turtle Challenge, impacting over 5,000 students and over 30 schools in the Houston area, creating the first STEM pipeline competition for PreK-12 students.

CSTEM developed the Lone Star Vex Challenge, a robotics competition utilizing the VEX robotics technology. CSTEM hosts 18 middle and high schools, impacting over 1200 students.

CSTEM sponsors West Briar Middle School in the FIRST Robotics Competition. They become the first Middle School to ever participate in the FIRST Robotics competition and won the Rookie-All Star Award.
