Addressing Barriers for Multilingual Students
As a STEM community, we know that our economically disadvantaged students, minorities, females, and disabled students continue to face barriers. However, as we continue our mission to ensure success in STEM for every student, there is another quickly growing group of students we need to consider: multilingual students. These learners have their own unique barriers and needs, and they must be included in our efforts to address learning gaps actively. Read the Full Article…

The growing CSforALL Movement!
C-STEM is pleased to announce that we are continuing our membership with Computer Science for All (CSforALL). CSforALL is an initiative to provide educators, parents, students, and content providers a central resource hub for the collective K-12 computer science community.
CSforALL membership requires content review by subject-matter experts. C-STEM proudly takes a place among other esteemed organizations in the CSforALL national directory as a provider of quality training. As a member, C-STEM is now part of a directory of more than 200 content providers of computer programming and robotics training and curriculum. We hope our continued participation in this national initiative will assist in spreading the word about the importance of computer science as a core academic subject. C-STEM believes strongly in providing hands-on and project-oriented instructional materials that empower students to feel confident in learning more about computer science.
In addition, membership in CSforALL provides us with opportunities to consult with in-house subject matter experts and to collaborate with other content providers. We are looking forward to this expanded partnership!
C-STEM Recognizes, Thanks Teachers
Earlier this month, C-STEM held an Amazon gift card giveaway in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week May 3 – 7.
Cesia Medina, winner of the $100 gift card, is a self-contained 3rd grade teacher at Windsor Village Elementary School in Houston, TX. Describing why she chose a career in education, she said, “I chose to be a teacher because it is the most rewarding profession in the world. I have seen my students grow academically and I love to instill the love for learning in my students. More importantly, I love to create memories with my students that will last a lifetime.”
Thank you teachers, for the impact you make every day!

Blast From the Past Corner
We get the biggest joy going back down memory lane. C-STEM has touched so many lives over the 20 years we have been serving communities near and far. It is our hope that this memory places a smile on your face and in your heart. This month, we’re featuring a video from our 2018 Challenge Day! We can’t wait to be able to do this again in person.
